Hugo Álvarez continues to grow in RC Celta and reaches a new milestone: the definitive jump to the first team with the number 23. Since he joined the club as a child, the winger of the exceptional generation of 2003 has experienced a steady progression that today allows him to wear this number for the remainder of the season.
The youth player, who made his debut with the first team in a match against Getafe under the guidance of Chacho Coudet during the 21/22 season, has accumulated in the current 24/25 season: 1,407 minutes in 23 games, in which he has scored 4 goals and provided 1 assist. These numbers have not gone unnoticed and have led him to achieve his first call-up with the Spanish U-21 National Team last October.
The growth of Hugo Álvarez, who renewed his contract until 2028 just a few months ago, underlines the commitment of RC Celta with its youth team and reaffirms the club’s effort to encourage and promote young talent.
