Pablo Durán wins his second consecutive Estrella Galicia award. The youth player has been chosen by the Celta fans as the best RC Celta player of January after beating Ilaix Moriba and Carl Starfelt in the final phase of the voting.
“Very happy for the recognition of the fans, I hope we continue in this dynamic”, said Pablo when he received the award, showing his gratitude to the sky blue fans for showing their support again. Undoubtedly the 2025 has started in an exceptional way for the attacker from Tomiño, who is in top form and who has given a lot to talk about during the last month.
The young footballer has taken stock of his first months in the First Division highlighting that “living this in an elite team like RC Celta is something unique”. Meanwhile, he recognises that “I still have a lot to learn from my teammates”.
In the match against Deportivo Alavés, Pablo Durán once again experienced a unique moment in Laliga when he scored his first away goal, a very important goal in a stage like the Mendizorroza stadium, which was enough to tie the game. “Scoring at home is very special because you are with your people, but scoring away was also a very nice experience”, he stresses. As for the team’s performance over the month of January, the striker recognises that “it has been a very good month to evaluate, improve and continue”. Meanwhile, the comeback against Real Betis last Saturday has been a boost that makes the team face the week in a different way “being aware that we are capable of turning any situation around“.
On the other hand, Pablo Durán has valued the fact that 14 players from the first team have been through the dynamics of the sky blue youth team as well as the coaching staff. For the player, “it is important that a club is so committed to the youth academy because it shows the youngsters at grassroots level that anything is possible”, but he also highlights the importance of other players who “without being canteranos, also feel this crest”.
