This weekend, the Cidade Deportiva Afouteza hosted a 20-hour theoretical-practical physiotherapy course given by the prestigious Dr. Ana de Groot. The doctor from Alicante, with an extensive international career, has given more than 220 courses around the world and has participated in numerous congresses and scientific publications of relevance in the field of physiotherapy, especially in the field of ultrasound applied to sports injuries. In addition, she has authored a dozen chapters on the autonomic-echographic correlation of the musculoskeletal system and invasive physiotherapy.
The course was attended by 10 Celta physiotherapists, both from the first team and the reserve team, as well as professionals from A Madroa and the A Sede clinic. All of them will broaden their knowledge in an area in which they already have previous training, such as the use of ultrasound and invasive techniques or the use of electrical currents that accelerate the injury recovery process.
For the club, the continuous training of its professionals is a priority, and the opportunity to have an expert of the stature of Dr. Ana de Groot is a real privilege. The initiative, promoted by the RC Celta physiotherapists, has been received with great enthusiasm by all the attendees, who see this course as an excellent opportunity to improve their knowledge and apply it in their day-to-day work, in order to improve the care and recovery of their players.
