Carl Starfelt suffers a rupture of fibers in the proximal tendon of the right biceps femoris

RC Celta

Carl Starfelt has suffered a rupture of fibers in the proximal tendon of the right biceps femoris, an injury that occurred during training a few days ago. The Celtic defender, who was in the last phase of recovery from a distal elongation of the biceps femoris suffered in the match of RC Celta against RCD Espanyol, experienced a sharp pain in the proximal region of the right thigh during one of the sessions last week, which prompted his immediate medical evaluation.

After an ultrasound, the club’s medical services confirmed a fibrillar rupture in the proximal tendon of the right biceps femoris. In the coming days, the player will undergo an MRI to complete the diagnosis and assess more accurately the extent of the injury, which provides an estimated time off between six and eight weeks.

RC Celta wishes Carl Starfelt a speedy recovery.
