The victory against Real Sociedad was not only a boost to keep dreaming about Europe this season, but also the perfect finishing touch to celebrate this achievement. It was also a special date, as it coincided with Claudio Giráldez’s 50th match in charge of the first team.
With 59 seasons in the elite, which will be the round figure of 60 next season, RC Celta enters the select group of teams with more games in the history of the First Division, being already the eighth club with more games played in the top flight, only behind Athletic Club de Bilbao, FC Barcelona, Real Madrid, Valencia CF, Atlético de Madrid, RCD Espanyol, Sevilla FC, Real Sociedad and Real Betis Balompié.
