Eight years later, Celta fans are once again excited by the music of great football nights, by the trips, by that tingling sensation that only Europe can provoke. What seemed like a dream on May 24 became reality this morning at the draw held at the Grimaldi Forum in Monaco, when the names of the eight rivals in this new continental adventure were announced.
As luck would have it, Celta will face Lille at home and Dinamo Zagreb away from pot 1; Paok at home and Crvena Zvezda away from pot 2; OGC Nice at home and Ludogorets away from pot 3; and Bologna at home and Stuttgart away from pot 4. The first European challenge of this return to the top flight will be on September 24 or 25, although the opponent and full schedule are still to be confirmed. For now, what is known is the format of the competition, which, as shown in the list above, will consist of eight matches, four at home and four away, against two teams from each pot.
So, pending the finalization of dates, Celta is already beginning to realize its return to Europe, the reward for a whole year of hard work, Afouteza e Corazón.
