Borja Iglesias has been honored with the XV Manuel de Castro “Handicap” Award by Estrella Galicia 2025, a recognition that makes him Celta’s best player of the year after an unforgettable season. In the run-up to the match against Osasuna at Abanca Balaídos, the Celta striker received this award, which, through the traditional joint vote by players, press, and fans, placed him ahead of Iago Aspas and Andrei Radu, the other finalists in this edition.
The award highlights a very special year for Borja Iglesias, marked by his return to what has always been his home and his outstanding performance on the pitch. On his return to Abanca Balaídos, the sky-blue striker became one of the team’s leading offensive players, scoring 16 goals and providing 5 assists in 44 games, spread across LaLiga, the Europa League, and the Copa del Rey.
