After winning at Toumba and at Abanca Balaídos against PAOK of Thessaloniki, Celta already know their opponent for the round of 16.
At midday today, the House of European Football in Nyon (Switzerland) hosted the draw that determined the pairings for the next round of the continental tournament. The Sky Blues had two possible opponents: Olympique Lyon or Aston Villa. In the end, fortune decided that the French side would be Celta’s rival in this tie. The round of 16 matches will be played on March 12 and 19, with the second leg to be decided away at the Parc Olympique Lyonnais.
Now, in a two-legged tie with plenty at stake, Celta will look to impose their style and rely on the backing of the Celta supporters to continue their European journey.
