RIO1923 to Turn Every Home Celta Match into a Work of Art Celebrating Galician Creativity

RC Celta

The club unveils a new initiative for the 2026/27 season that will bring together football, illustration and culture, giving a platform to a diverse range of Galician artists

Through its RIO1923 project, Celta is taking another step in its commitment to Galician culture with the launch of a new creative initiative for the 2026/27 season. In collaboration with Chachachá Studio, the club will transform every LaLiga match played at ABANCA Balaídos into an opportunity to celebrate Galicia’s artistic talent through a unique collection of original illustrations.

Starting this season, every league fixture in Vigo will feature an official match poster specially created by a Galician artist. Each artwork will offer a personal interpretation of the encounter between Celta and its opponent, turning the build-up to every match into a space where sport and artistic expression come together to tell the story of football in a new way.

Rather than pursuing a single visual style, the project is designed to showcase the creative diversity of Galicia’s contemporary art scene. Throughout the season, Galician illustrators and creators working across a wide range of disciplines will take part, from graffiti and urban art to contemporary illustration, graphic design, collage, painting and more conceptual artistic practices. Every poster will be a one-of-a-kind piece, reflecting its creator’s identity and the richness of Galician culture.

With this initiative, Celta reaffirms its ambition to be much more than a football club. The project aims to create a meeting point between sport and culture, support the work of Galician artists and bring their creations to a community that extends far beyond the pitch.

This initiative is conceived with the ambition of creating a lasting legacy that goes beyond sporting results: a collection of original artworks celebrating Galician creative talent while strengthening the bond between Celta, its identity and the culture of Galicia.
