Celta and Conxemar seal a strategic partnership for the next seven years

RC Celta

Celta and Conxemar, the Spanish Association of Wholesalers, Importers, Exporters and Processors of Fishery and Aquaculture Products, signed a strategic sponsorship agreement this Thursday running until 2033. The agreement was signed by Celta president Marián Mouriño and Conxemar president Eloy Alvariza at an event held at the ABANCA Balaídos Municipal Stadium. This partnership stems from a connection that goes far beyond the business sphere: Celta’s longstanding relationship with the sea, something that has always been part of the identity, history and way of life of our entire community.

The signing of the agreement was accompanied by the screening of a documentary looking back at the importance the sea has had throughout Vigo’s history and its relationship with the growth of the city and its surrounding area. The journey also highlighted Celta’s ties to the sea and to a city whose maritime character is an inseparable part of the club’s identity.

This partnership is also part of the project that Celta has been developing since Marián Mouriño became president, built around three key pillars: sporting competitiveness, financial consistency and connection with the community. The agreement with Conxemar particularly strengthens the latter, consolidating the club’s relationship with one of the sectors that best represents Vigo and Galicia and projects its identity far beyond our borders.“Choosing partners is also a way of defining what kind of club we want to be and what we want to represent, and in that sense, Conxemar is a very natural fit for Celta. The sea is something that is deeply ours and connects us with the community. That is why this partnership allows us to grow from our roots, strengthen our identity both within and beyond Galicia and, at the same time, look towards future generations, creating initiatives that help people understand, appreciate and care for that connection with the sea. Ultimately, it is about growing alongside a sector with which we share a common heritage, values and, above all, an ambition for the future,” explained Marián Mouriño following the signing.

The President of Conxemar, Eloy Alvariza, highlighted that this alliance goes far beyond an institutional collaboration: “we share an approach to our commitment to society based on promoting healthy habits, effort and people’s well-being. Sport is an extraordinary tool for conveying these values and raising awareness of the importance of a balanced diet, in which seafood products play a fundamental role.”

As part of the agreement, Conxemar will have a presence and visibility across different Celta platforms and assets, as well as one of the largest hospitality areas at ABANCA Balaídos, located in the new Gol stand once construction is completed. Celta and Conxemar are thus embarking on a joint seven-year journey with the aim of continuing to strengthen the ties between the club, the city, its people and a sector of which Vigo is one of the leading international hubs.
