It was an August afternoon in 1923. RC Celta was born on this day 96 years ago, a landmark day in which the historic Real Fortuna and Sporting Vigo joined forces to create a club called to represent not only the city, but all Galicians. It has been 96 years in which the club and its fans have enjoyed and suffered, with their best and worst moments, but always with their heads held high and proud of what the sky-blue club represents.
The 96th anniversary comes at a very exciting time, with the team in First Division for the eighth consecutive season, a sports project based on the academy and a healthy institution economically and with ambitious projects such as the new sports city. We at the club celebrate this special date with those who form part of the Celtista family, from fans to managers, players and employees; with a special and affectionate memory of all those who, during these 96 years and though they are no longer with us, helped to build this great RC Celta, which is moving forward with enthusiasm and determination towards its 100th anniversary.
HALA CELTA!
