Today, May 9, marks one year since the birth of As Celtas. It seems unbelievable, but it has been 365 days since club and Celtic gathered at A Madroa to welcome a project that showed its head full of illusion, identity and commitment. The first skin-to-skin contact that would mark the beginning of a new era, the start of a new celestial chapter, the beginning of a dream that had been years in the making and that, in just twelve months, has already left an indelible mark.
What began as a promise, is today a reality that exceeds any expectation; As Celtas have achieved their first major goal, promotion to Second RFEF. But the real success of this season goes far beyond the results. It is the story of a team that, since that May 9, 2024, lost among the leaves of the calendar but latent in the memory, has been able to build a family on and off the field. A group of players, coaching staff and fans who have taken their first steps hand in hand, day after day, always in the same direction.
From the debut of As Celtas on September 7, 2024, where the team was baptized with the Celtics in Abanca Balaídos and won its first victory -thanks to the first goals of the history signed by Camila Pescatore and Ana Toubes-, to reaching the historical record of attendance in A Madroa, this course has been full of feeling and full of moments to remember. The inauguration of their new changing rooms, the creation of their first federated supporters’ club, “As Guerreiras Celtas”, the first League Trophy for the Infantiles, the promotion of the reserve team… Everything has contributed to forge the identity of a team that has done nothing but grow.
The numbers are impressive: 24 wins, 110 goals and a historic promotion in just a few months. But what is exciting is how they have been achieved. With dedication, with effort, with Afouteza and with heart. As Celtas have demonstrated that they know how to win, yes, but also that they know how to fight when the road gets complicated. That they know how to get up. That they are made of another paste.
And if the team has been brave, the fans have not been left behind. As Celtas have felt the warmth of Celtic in every game, at home and away, and the club can not be more proud of this tireless support. Thank you, fans, for believing and for always being there.
Today, May 9, As Celtas close their year zero with honors. A year of life. A year of history. An unforgettable year. As Celtas “are already here”. And they are here to stay.
