Celtalks Adeslas tackles addiction prevention with the Érguete Association

RC Celta

The Salón Regio at A Sede reopened its doors for a new edition of Celtalks Adeslas, an initiative promoted by the Celta Foundation that continues to grow as a meeting and training space for A Canteira players.

Following previous sessions led by Desirée Vila and Adi Iglesias, this third event focused on addiction prevention. On this occasion, the Érguete Association was responsible for leading a talk aimed at informing and raising awareness about the risks associated with both substance abuse and behavioral addictions.

During the meeting, realities that are increasingly present in adolescence were addressed, such as excessive use of social media, gambling addiction, and energy drink consumption. With a special focus on adolescence, the objective was to inform, raise awareness, and provide youth players with tools to make responsible decisions that protect their health and their future.

The Érguete Association was founded in the 1980s when a group of Galician mothers came together to tackle the devastating consequences of drug trafficking in Galicia. Since then, this non-profit social initiative has been working to promote healthy lifestyles, create opportunities, and provide support to individuals and families affected by addictive, disruptive, and/or risky behaviors, intervening in legal, social, preventive, and educational areas.

With this new session, Celtalks Adeslas has established itself as a training space for young people to grow with the necessary foundations to face all the challenges present in society with maturity and responsibility.
