A month of work and dedication recognized by the RC Celta fans. Gabri Veiga is the winner of the Estrella Galicia Player of the Month Award, in this case in January. The player from Porriño adds his fourth award this season.
The academy player was ahead of Iago Aspas and Strand Larsen in the final vote. Gabri stood out in the fans’ vote in a month in which RC Celta scored victories against Elche and Athletic Club, a draw against Villarreal and a defeat in their visit to Mallorca.
“It is always a pride to receive an award won by your idols and I hope that more will come,” said Veiga.
The midfielder wanted to dedicate a few words to Iago Aspas, also a finalist this month, assuring that “for me he will always be the best, he has a level that none of us have”.
Gabri analyzed that “we knew it was going to be a very tough season, but I prepared myself physically in the summer and everything is going well”.
“Everything that is happening to me is a dream and I am living one of the happiest moments of my life,” said the midfielder.
