Iago Aspas has been distinguished with the XIV Manuel de Castro “Handicap” Trophy by ‘Estrella Galicia 2024’. This outstanding recognition, awarded through a joint vote in which the first team, the press and the fans participate, designates him as the best RC Celta player of the year 2024, escorted by Óscar Mingueza and Hugo Álvarez. It will be the ninth award for the Moañes striker, who had already been awarded in 2012, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021 and 2022.
This distinction highlights the brilliant performance over the past year of the Celeste captain, who has left, and continues to leave, an indelible mark on the club’s history according to the unanimous assessment of the Celeste community. Nine goals and ten assists in 36 games have been the numbers of the youth academy player in the 23/24 season that, together with his quality, commitment and effort in every game, have allowed him to win this well-deserved award.
