LaLiga Genuine Santander returns to Vigo to celebrate the start of the third phase of the 2022/23 season for this inclusive project, launched by LaLiga through its Foundation, consisting of a football league made up of teams of people with intellectual disabilities.

Following the celebration of the 2nd phase in Barcelona and Bilbao, the purest passion for football returns to the pitch with RC Celta as the host team for the weekend, who, together with the Celta Foundation, wanted to share the celebration of the Sky Blues’ centenary with the league of true football stars.

This Friday, the traditional inauguration ceremony for this fourth stop on the Genuine calendar took place at A Sede RC Celta. Javier Tebas, president of LaLiga, and Carlos Mouriño, president of RC Celta, welcomed the captains of the 22 participating teams for the weekend.

Carlos Mouriño expressed his excitement and that of RC Celta to host LaLiga Genuine Santander again: “I want to thank the president, Javier Tebas, and the entire organization for letting us share this special moment during RC Celta’s centenary. Thank you, because it is a source of pride and joy for us to host one of the venues for this competition again.”

Javier Tebas expressed his gratitude to RC Celta and its commitment to LaLiga Genuine Santander: “It is a great pleasure to be here today in the city of Vigo. We wanted to come here, not only because of the club’s centenary but also to highlight the commitment that RC Celta Integra has been showing since the birth of LaLiga Genuine Santander, a unique competition in the world, where the important thing is not to compete, but to share.”

On April 15 and 16, more than 350 players will meet at the A Madroa Sports Facilities to play the 33 matches that make up this stage of the competition. Two sporting days where the passion that characterizes LaLiga Genuine Santander will take center stage.

Arranged in 3 slots – Saturday morning, Saturday afternoon, and Sunday morning – teams will be able to defend their colors to advance in the sports and Fair Play standings and, above all, enjoy the most genuine football, accompanied by fans, family, and friends, and ultimately, anyone who wants to be infected by the spirit of this competition. Admission is free throughout the weekend.

As in each of the phases of this season, LaLiga Genuine Santander will be dedicated to the qualities that characterize this competition. And after experiencing the most genuine emotion and overcoming, the third phase of the season will focus on the passion with which the players, coaching staff, and fans of this league live football.
