One last step before taking the first.

This morning, the Consello of the Xunta de Galicia officially approved the declaration of the Cidade Deportiva Afouteza – GS360 as a Project of Autonomic Interest (PIA), allowing work on the project to begin immediately. This milestone marks the culmination of a process that RC Celta began two years ago, with the goal of transforming the Galician sports industry and accelerating the club’s growth. With this initiative, the club will reinforce its commitment to youth development and strengthen its position as a leading reference in academic and athletic training on an international scale.

Over the past two years, RC Celta has worked tirelessly and in close collaboration with the regional government, given the strategic importance of the project for Galicia. The club has gone above and beyond to meet the criteria required for this designation, with particular attention to environmental sustainability—preserving local springs, ponds, native forests, and natural ecosystems. This commitment led to a landmark agreement with the Mancomunidad de Montes de Tameiga.

This project represents a turning point in the history of both RC Celta and Galician sport. CD Afouteza – GS360 will include a 4,000-seat mini stadium, five new training fields for youth and cadet teams (RC Celta and As Celtas), and a training center offering university and vocational courses focused on health and sport. It will also feature a residence for academy players and students, a catering area serving the entire complex, and a hotel for visiting athletes and participants in academic, cultural, and social events. The facilities will be rounded out by two dedicated areas for sports clinics and innovation in athletic performance.

In short, Cidade Deportiva Afouteza – GS360 will encompass research labs, cultural and leisure spaces, sports medicine, tourism infrastructure, and facilities for the practice of all kinds of sports—a bold and strategic commitment to the future of Galician sport, building on the tireless work of local federations and clubs.

RC Celta expresses its sincere gratitude to the Xunta de Galicia for its support in bringing this transformative project to life. With Cidade Deportiva Afouteza – GS360, the club looks ahead to a promising future filled with ambition and opportunity.
