Vicky Vázquez will step down as head coach of As Celtas at the end of the current season, bringing her spell in charge of the first team to a close in the club’s second year of existence. However, the Vigo-born coach will remain linked to Celta, where he will continue to contribute his expertise in a new role within the club’s structure, coaching youth players as part of a robust development and training programme.
As the first head coach of the women’s team, she oversaw an outstanding debut season in 2024/25, crowned by direct promotion from Tercera to Segunda RFEF. In the current campaign, now competing in the higher division, she has maintained the project’s growth and consolidated work of significant importance for the team’s development.
Celta would like to express its gratitude to Vicky for the dedication, commitment, and professionalism she has shown over these two years on the As Celtas bench, as well as for the bond she has built with the dressing room, the fans, and all areas of the club. From now on, she will continue contributing in a new capacity, in a role where she will undoubtedly keep writing the club’s history.
