Vicky Vázquez will coach the first team of As Celtas

Vicky Vázquez will be in charge of the first team of As Celtas. The club and the coach closed in the last hours the agreement for her to become in charge of the bench of the first As Celtas team. In this way, the club endorses its commitment to put in value the existing talents in the quarry and that represent like nobody else the philosophy and the values of the entity, that knows to the perfection, since she has been coach of the Infantil A and until now of the Benjamín B of the RC Celta. In addition, she is the Galician U15 women’s national team coach, a team that this past weekend was proclaimed Champion of Spain.

With a degree in Physical Activity and Sport Sciences from the University of Vigo, Vicky has 15 years of experience in the national category of professional football. She has coached different teams in the area such as Rápido de Bouzas, Lérez, Santa Mariña and Sárdoma.

On the bench, Vicky will be accompanied by Mara Jiménez, who will occupy the position of assistant coach of As Celtas. A graduate in Physical Activity and Sport Sciences from the University of Extremadura, Mara Jiménez has an extensive career as a footballer with teams such as Sevilla FC, where she played as a cadet and youth player; Málaga CF in 2nd Nacional Femenina; Cacereño, in the Iberdrola Challenge and CD Tenerife, where she played in 2nd RFEF.

Between 2019 and 2022 she has been coach of the benjamín, alevín and infantile categories of Cacereño. Last season, she held the positions of 2nd Coach and technical analyst at UD Tenerife.

At the same time, she is a teacher at the EUFA in FIFT of the Spanish Football Federation and Football Girls director of the WOB Campuses.

With the incorporation of both technicians, the club bets for the coherence of the project to give opportunities to women who are more than qualified to lead the technical part of As Celtas. RC Celta has full confidence in the ability and talent of both Vicky and Mara to start this new stage in the club, which is one of the most exciting projects in our recent history.
