The Cidade Deportiva Afouteza hosted the official presentation of Altay Bayindir as a Celta player this Wednesday. The goalkeeper appeared before the media for the first time, accompanied by José Manuel Amoedo and Marco Garcés.
The board member welcomed the new Celta player and thanked him for his commitment to the club’s project. The director of football, meanwhile, highlighted the goalkeeper’s potential and the confidence he has placed in Celta. “I believe he will help us increase competition in the goalkeeping position in a season in which we will face three important competitions,” he said.
Very excited about this new challenge, Altay explained why he chose Celta despite having other options. “I am very excited to be here. Since I arrived in Italy, everyone has welcomed me very well, and that is very important to me,” he said. The goalkeeper acknowledged that his conversations with Claudio Giráldez were decisive in making his decision and that from the very first minute he wanted to “be here, in this project, grow with the club and succeed with the club“,he added.
Regarding his adaptation to Spanish football, Bayindir pointed out that the system is different from what he was used to in England, although he is approaching the change with enthusiasm, “excited about this challenge and about learning new things. I am always ready for any situation and I will give my best“.
The new Celta goalkeeper also wanted to focus on the day-to-day. “You have to take it step by step and think about today. Both in work and in life, I don’t think about the future. I go little by little, focusing on doing what I have to do at every moment, in the present,” he concluded.
