Celta secured their first LaLiga victory of the season with a 3-2 win over Osasuna at El Sadar, a demanding match in which the sky-blues sought to make a statement and put in a mature performance against an opponent that had been unbeaten at home until now. Ferran Jutglà was the star of the show with a brace that opened his scoring account as a Celta player, while Pablo Durán, with a goal in the 87th minute, sealed the comeback and secured the win.
The match began at a high tempo with chances at both ends, but it was Ferran Jutglà who put the sky-blues ahead in the 27th minute with a classy finish past Sergio Herrera. Celta were smiling, but their joy was short-lived as, before the break, Osasuna were able to turn the score around with two goals from Budimir, the first from the penalty spot and the second from a corner kick.
Far from falling apart, Claudio Giráldez’s players kept the faith. In the second half, Ferran Jutglà once again took advantage of a loose ball in the area to equalize the match, and as time was running out, Pablo Durán finished off a quick counterattack to seal the final 2-3 score, which sparked definitive joy for the sky-blues.
This victory reaffirms the positive feelings that Claudio Giráldez’s team had been showing on the pitch despite not being able to translate them into points. Celta will return to action next week with a visit to Levante on Sunday at 2 p.m., but first they will play the first round of the Copa del Rey against Puerto de Vega on Thursday at 7 p.m.
