Carl Starfelt (Stockholm, June 1, 1995) is now officially part of the RC Celta squad. The central defender, who comes to Vigo from Celtic FC in the Scottish League, will wear the sky blue for four seasons, until 2027.
The Swedish international, a regular in his national team’s recent call-ups, stands out for his great performances and the good work he has been doing over the past seasons. Evidence of this are his impressive defensive statistics from last season: first in interceptions, first in accurate ball clearances, leader in blocking opponents, and a 70% win rate in aerial duels.
It’s no surprise, therefore, that the center-back earned an undisputed starting spot in the Glasgow team. Since arriving in the summer market of 2021, Carl Starfelt played a total of 7,501 minutes spread across 87 matches, and helped his team to win the Scottish League and the League Cup in 2022, as well as the Scottish Cup in the past 2022/23 season.
With this signing, the fifth of this summer, RC Celta strengthens its defense and adds to its ranks a resolute, staunch, quick, and secure player. A footballer with great qualities who, along with the rest of his teammates, will fight to the fullest to defend the sky blue badge throughout this special campaign for the fans, marking the club’s Centenary.
