RC Celta found everything up against it in Gran Canaria Stadium. The team was unable to beat the local team, palying with a man down during the last 20 minutes of the match after Orellana was sent off by the referee in a very rigorous expulsion. Bongonda scored for Celta but Viera set the draw scoring an inexistent penalty. Las Palmas scored the winning goal in the last minute.
