The 11th league match-day wasn’t just another day at the office for Celta. The team and the fans faced a complicated match against Athletic Club -which Celta hadn’t defeated at Balaidos since 2003- after losing two league matches in a row: at home against Atlético and away versus Málaga.
A magnificent first half by the Galician squad, topped with a goal by Sergi Gómez and two by Iago Aspas, gave way to second half in which Unzue’s team was more restrained against an Athletic Club which never threw in the towel. The 3-1 final scoreboard gives RC Celta three important points before the hiatus in LaLiga due to national squad matches.
