Celta and Racing de Santander have reached an agreement for the loan of Damián Rodríguez until the end of the current season. The midfielder from Ponteareas will head to Santander to play the second part of the campaign.
For the first time, the academy graduate will leave the walls of A Madroa, Afouteza, and Abanca Balaídos to embark on a new professional adventure, which will last until next June. He does so after having worn the Celeste shirt in 29 official matches with the first team across LALIGA EA SPORTS, Copa del Rey, and UEFA Europa League, totaling 1.648 minutes, one goal, and three assists.
A reference for the youth academy and a source of pride for all of Celta, whose fans have witnessed how that little ball boy who watched Iago Aspas with admiration has come to share a locker room with him in European competition, Damián has earned the affection of the supporters not only for his effort, work, and commitment on the pitch but also for his character off it.
Celta wishes him the greatest success in this new chapter of his career, confident that he will continue to grow and leave his mark.
Good luck, Damián!
