Diego Alves reinforces RC Celta’s goalkeeping

RC Celta

Diego Alves Carreira (Rio de Janeiro, 24/06/1987) is a new RC Celta player. The Italian-Brazilian goalkeeper joins the sky-blue team -after Agustín Marchesín’s injury- as a free agent after finishing his contract with Flamengo, where he won two Carioca Championships, two Libertadores and one Recopa Sudamericana.

The goalkeeper returns to LaLiga, where he has already played more than 300 games at UD Almeria and Valencia CF. Alves, a Brazil international who played in the 2008 Summer Olympics and an America Cup, holds the record for the highest number of stoppages from the penalty spot in the history of LaLiga with 22 saves.
