The academy player Iván Villar will continue defending the sky blue goal until 2024. The goalkeeper sealed his renewal in the Salón Regio of A Sede with the president of RC Celta, Carlos Mouriño.
Iván Villar (Aldán, 1997), came to the club’s youth ranks in 2008 and season after season was offering a great level until reaching the sky blue second team with just 16 years. He made his debut with the first team in May 2017 against Deportivo Alavés.
The academy player, an Under-21 international with the Spanish National Team, played 21 LaLiga matches this past season, leaving a clean sheet in five of them.
With this renewal, RC Celta once again endorses its firm commitment to the youth academy and the arrival of players trained at A Madroa to the first team.
Hours after announcing his renewal, the RFEF made public that the sky blue goalkeeper had been included in the list of 22 players who will participate in the Olympic Games in Tokyo with the Spanish National Team. A well-deserved award for Iván Villar after a great end of season with RC Celta.
