Rafa Benitez has successfully directed his first match at the helm of RC Celta. The team from Vigo scored a resounding victory (5-0) over Cristiano Ronaldo’s Al Nassr in their first game of the Algarve Trophy.
After a balanced first half, the match broke open in the second 45 minutes. Gael Alonso, a player from the Celta youth academy, made his debut as a scorer with the first team.
Subsequently, Miguel Rodriguez and Strand Larsen – with a hat trick – signed off on Celta’s thrashing of a Saudi team that threw in the towel.
This Friday, RC Celta will play their second match against SL Benfica, also in Faro (Portugal).
