Renato Tapia received the Estrella Galicia Player of the Month award at the Cidade Deportiva Afouteza for his outstanding performances during the first month of the year. The Peruvian midfielder obtained 50% of the votes cast by Celta fans through the club’s social networks, followed by Brais Méndez and Santi Mina with 25% each.
Tapia showed his joy on collecting his second Estrella Galicia award as an RC Celta player and thanked the fans for their support. “Thank you very much to the Celta fans, and to all the fans in Peru who voted for me. I’m going to keep working hard for more trophies to come,” he said.
Answering questions from sky-blue fans, Tapia explained how he adapted to the city and the competition, emphasizing how good the Galician cuisine is. He also joked about his actions on the pitch, acknowledging that “either the ball passes or the player passes” and assured that his role models have been Lampard and Gerrard.
