Clear and deserved RC Celta win at San Mamés against Athletic Club (0-2). Captain Hugo Mallo and Aspas scored the sky-blue goals and allowed the team from Vigo to climb up in the standings after adding their second consecutive victory.
The first half was defined by struggle and evenness in the center of the field. The first clear chance was for the home team through Muniaín. Then it was Santi Mina who shot against the rival goal and at the 30 minute mark a dangerous cross was about to put the sky-blue team ahead.
After the break, Eduardo Coudet’s players took control of the game and after 15 minutes Hugo Mallo put the sky-blue team in front with a great header. The goal spurred RC Celta even more and a brilliant steal by Brais Méndez allowed Iago Aspas to score the second goal and guaranteed the second consecutive victory for the sky-blue team.
