RC Celta has closed the renewal of Hugo Álvarez in an exciting agreement that reinforces the club’s commitment to the youth team. The 21-year-old player and Marco Garcés, RC Celta’s Director of Football, signed a contract at the Cidade Deportiva Afouteza today that will extend the player’s contract with the sky blue team until June 2028.
After joining the club when he was just a child, Hugo has grown up defending the Celta shirt, accumulating more than 6,900 minutes in 96 matches between the reserve and first team. His contribution includes 11 goals and 11 assists, reflecting his talent and dedication on the pitch.
His dedication and constant evolution have not gone unnoticed and have allowed him to be definitively promoted to the first team this season and to receive his first call-up to the U-21 national team last October.
This renewal reaffirms the commitment of RC Celta with one of its fundamental pillars, the youth team. The club would like to wish Hugo many successes in this new stage and thank him for his work, dedication and tenacity since the first day he put on the sky blue shirt.
