Hugo Mallo is a living legend of RC Celta. The skyblue home-grown player added 350 official matches, against Villarreal defending the Celta team, a figure only within reach of four other club legends: Vicente (350), Maté (368), Atilano (392) and Manolo (533).
The one from Marín made his debut with the first team on 29 August 2009 against Numancia in Balaídos, at the age of eighteen and without playing for the B team. A decade later, Hugo Mallo is a leader for the academy and celtismo. Behind him are matches for promotion, first division consolidation, two semi-finals of Copa del Rey, one in Europa League… The captain armband holder is a true legend.
