Javi Galán returns to Celta to reinforce the left flank

RC Celta

Celta Vigo and Javi Galán are reunited. The Extremadura-born full-back has signed a contract until 2028, becoming the sky-blues’ second signing of the summer transfer window.

His return marks a reunion with a club where he left a lasting impression, both for his performances on the pitch and for the commitment and dedication he always showed while wearing the sky-blue shirt. During his first spell in Vigo, he played a total of 79 official matches, establishing himself as a key player on the left flank.

After completing his first stint at Celta, Javi moved to Atlético de Madrid in the 2023/24 season. Since then, he has continued to gain experience in various competitions, including the UEFA Champions League, the Spanish Super Cup, and the FIFA Club World Cup. After also playing for Real Sociedad and Osasuna, the defender returns to Celta to take on a new and exciting challenge at a club he knows very well.

Javi Galán stands out for his ability to cover the entire flank, his attacking runs, and his skill in beating opponents in one-on-one situations. His precise crosses and his knack for exploiting space make him a player who can fit perfectly into Claudio Giráldez’s system.

In this new chapter with Celta, he will once again share a dressing room with players he played alongside in his previous spell, such as Iago Aspas, Sergio Carreira, Williot Swedberg, Carlos Domínguez, Hugo Sotelo, Iván Villar, Hugo Álvarez, and Pablo Durán, which will facilitate his integration into a squad that is approaching the new season with great enthusiasm.

Welcome back home, Javi!
