RC Celta presented on Friday its new centre-back, Joseph Aidoo. The Ghanaian player, who arrives transferred by Genk from Belgium, was accompanied in his presentation by Vice President Pedro Posada and Sports Director Felipe Miñambres. “RC Celta is ambitious and so am I, that’s why I chose this club,” said the defender in his first words as a sky-blue player.
Aidoo was very happy for his arrival to the Spanish league, which he considers “the best competition in the world”, and assured to be a professional “who adapts quickly”. “I’m here to help the team and achieve the club’s goals,” he said. The Ghana international jumped onto the pitch of Abanca Balaídos, where he was acclaimed by several hundred fans who offered him a warm welcome.
Having competed in the Africa Cup until a few days ago, Joseph Aidoo will be on holiday until 21st of July, when he will join the training sessions with the first team.
