RC Celta lost against Lille OSC (3-1) in what is the first defeat of Claudio Giráldez’s team in this preseason 24/25. A match against a top level team that, despite the result, ended up being very even and without too many chances for both teams.
During the first half, the French took the lead with goals from Haraldsson, Gudmundsson and Bayo. Tasos Douvikas scored in the 38th minute after a pass from Jonathan Bamba. The Greek striker, who continues to be on target, scored his sixth goal of the pre-season so far.
The highlight of the match was the debut of Borja Iglesias in the sky-blue shirt. The player from Santiago de Compostela came on for the last 20 minutes, making a good impression and creating one of the few chances in the second half. Also positive was the return of Joseph Aidoo who, for the second consecutive game, returned to the field, which shows his progressive recovery.
A game, with highs and lows, which will now serve Claudio Giráldez to continue analysing the team and fine-tuning their physical and tactical form ahead of the new 24/25 season.
