RC Celta returned to score away from home after a goalless draw at the Visit Mallorca Estadi against RCD Mallorca in the match corresponding to the seventeenth round of LaLiga. A match in which the wind was the key factor, completely conditioning the game of both teams during the course of the clash.
After a quarter of an hour of testing the weather conditions by both teams, Santi Mina had to be removed as a precaution on a stretcher after receiving a strong ball in the face. Despite this and the gale against, RC Celta resisted and even came closer to the goal in the first half with a good chance for Galhardo after a lateral free kick in the final stretch of the first forty-five minutes of regulation time.
The first clear chance after the break was for the locals through Maffeo, to which the sky blues responded with a good opportunity for Galhardo and a shot by Brais that did not find the net. The match took off with the passing of the minutes and, after Ángel’s bicycle kick that Dituro caught safely, RC Celta had a double chance to take the lead, this time with Galhardo and Tapia -with a header- as protagonists. This spurred Eduardo Coudet’s team, who took control of the game in the final stretch of the match, with a string of clear chances, but it was not enough for the celtico team to take the three points.
A result that momentarily raises RC Celta to the thirteenth position with seventeen points and that means the last league match of the year away from Abanca Balaídos. After this draw, the sky blues will continue with their cup adventure next Tuesday, December 14 at 19:00 against FC Andorra at the Estadi Nacional.
