Medical tests performed on Miguel Román following acute pain experienced during yesterday’s training session at the Cidade Deportiva Afouteza have revealed a loose body in his right knee.
The player, who felt discomfort after striking the ball, underwent a clinical examination and an MRI scan; these confirmed the presence of a loose body large enough to require surgical removal via arthroscopy.
The surgery will be performed in the coming days by the club’s head of medical services, Dr. Juan José García Cota. Barring complications, the estimated recovery period is between four and six weeks.
