RC Celta started off LaLiga with a draw against Espanyol. The skyblues began the match at an excellent level of play, putting pressure on the Barcelona team and dominating ball possession. Not many scoring chances were generated and after some minutes the match began to level up. Espanyol had a couple of scoring chances and, right before halftime, after a corner-kick, Hermoso put the visiting team ahead on the scoreboard.
In the second half, the skyblues kept up the good attitude and an own goal by David Lopez boosted the Vigo squad to look for the winning goal. It never came and the match finished with a fair draw after what happened on the playing field. First step for a promising Celta team that displayed great talent and still has much room for improvement.
