The sky-blue supporters have chosen Andrei Radu as the winner of the Estrella Galicia MVP Award for the month of October. The Romanian goalkeeper beat Iago Aspas and Pablo Durán in the voting, becoming the second Celta player to receive this recognition this season. An award that highlights in the players the values of effort and nonconformity promoted by the iconic Hijos de Rivera beer and the company itself, and which confirms the goalkeeper’s excellent form and quick adaptation since his arrival in Vigo.
Radu was especially grateful and shared how he has experienced these first weeks at the club: “It’s been a wonderful few months, it was better than I expected.” He also spoke about the recent injury he suffered, downplaying its significance despite the discomfort: “I’m fine, my finger still hurts a little, but I can’t stop because we have a lot of work to do this year; we need to make a bit of a sacrifice.”
The goalkeeper also reflected on the team’s start to the season: “The start of the season was a bit disappointing because we were playing well, but we kept drawing. Then the victories came, and I hope we start another run of positive results.”
With a busy end of 2025 ahead due to the accumulation of matches, Radu assures that the dressing room keeps the same mentality: “We face this week the same way we face all of them, with the same desire, with the same work, and we’re ready.”
Regarding the Estrella Galicia award, the goalkeeper said it was particularly special for him. “The first thing I saw when I entered the dressing room were Iago’s player-of-the-month awards—he has three or four above his spot—and I thought it would be very nice to receive one too. Now I have it here and I’m very happy. I hope to win more in the future,” he confessed.
Finally, Radu wanted to end by thanking the support he has received from Celta fans since the very first day. “Thank you very much, supporters. Never stop cheering us on because we will continue giving everything on the pitch and for this shirt.”
