RC Celta believes in ball possession. UEFA has released a study in which it analyses the real match time played in each of the major European leagues and in the UEFA Champions League itself. Thus, in LaLiga the sky-blue team is placed as the fifth team with the most effective playing time with 28 minutes of possession per match. The average in competition is 53.5 minutes per match.
In addition, the youth academy is very active in the first team. The players trained in A Madroa add up to more than 7,500 minutes in LaLiga this season , a third of the total squad. RC Celta is among the teams of the main European leagues with highest percentage of minutes played by their home-grown players .
On the other hand, RC Celta stands out for its fair play . The Vigo team is the fourth with the fewest fouls committed in the entire league, accumulating only 12 fouls per match. It is noteworthy that the sky blue team is the one with the highest number of ejections in the first 23 rounds of LaLiga with a total of five. The other two clubs that accumulate the same red cards add, respectively, 80 and 130 more fouls than the sky-blues.
