RC Celta defeated FC Barcelona in ABANCA Balaídos (2-0) and certified their fourth consecutive home win. Fran Escribá’s team knew how to read the match and had patience to seal the win in the second half with goals from Maxi and Aspas.
In the first half there were not many scoring chances. FC Barcelona took control of the ball and RC Celta defended with command to go out on the counter. Theirs were the most dangerous finishes to the opposing area, although it was Ruben Blanco who stopped the best shot.
The second half began with a goal reversed to Nestor Araujo, who was a millimeter offside. The sky blue team, now owner of the match, poured over the goal of the azulgrana and had several clear scoring chances. In the middle of the second half a sensational cross from Boudebouz was sent to the back of the net by Maxi Gomez to put RC Celta ahead. In the final stretch, Iago Aspas put the final 2-0 from the penalty spot.
