RC Celta celebrated another home win with a clear victory over Villarreal thanks to three home goals.
The match started with a lot of intensity, as expected, against a rival from the upper part of the table, which promised to be a very tense match. The ‘yellow submarine’ started dominating with timid light blue arrivals to the rival goal, highlighting Marcos Alonso’s direct shot from the wing that for a moment took the breath away from the entire stand. But it was undoubtedly Bailly’s straight red card in the 36th minute that tipped the scales in the Celestes’ favour. The Ivorian centre-back brought down Alfon when he was practically facing goal on his own, leaving Villarreal with 10 men for more than half the game. A goal that seemed definitive but the end of this story was not yet written. Iago Aspas would close the account, in the 87th minute, scoring a penalty in favour of Celta, after a foul on Ilaix Moriba inside the area.
