RC Celta has announced a new opponent for the 2025/26 preseason. The team coached by Claudio Giráldez will face SC Braga, one of the most prominent clubs in Portuguese football and a regular in European competitions. The match will be played on Saturday, July 19, at the Estadio Municipal de Braga (time yet to be confirmed).
SC Braga, fourth in the Liga de Portugal, has a long history of success in Portuguese football, winning three Portuguese Cups, three League Cups, and one Portuguese Football Federation Cup. Internationally, they have competed in the UEFA Champions League three times and are a regular in the UEFA Europa League, establishing themselves as one of the greatest ambassadors of Portuguese football.
The RC Celta team will travel to the neighboring country for a match that will also be a duel between Spanish coaches following the recent arrival of Carlos Vicens to the Portuguese first team, leaving behind his successful stint as Pep Guardiola’s assistant at Manchester City.
This friendly follows the previously announced match against Wolverhampton Wanderers FC, gradually completing a highly demanding preseason for RC Celta Vigo, aiming to best prepare for the upcoming campaign.
