Three Points run away from RC Celta at San Mamés (4-3)

RC Celta

In a thrilling match at San Mamés, RC Celta, despite being superior for most of the game, let the points slip away in the final moments, losing 4-3 to Athletic Club.

The game started with Celta dominating, with Iago Aspas making several runs at Unai Simón’s goal. Midway through the first half, Aspas opened the scoring with a precise curler, marking his first goal of the season. However, Athletic’s Sancet, assisted by Nico Williams, quickly equalized. While the home crowd was still celebrating, Bamba scored for Celta following a rebound just outside the box. It seemed Celta would lead at halftime, but Guruzeta, again combining with Williams, scored in added time to level the match.

The second half continued the back-and-forth battle. Guruzeta, riding his momentum, scored again right after the break. Celta, determined not to return home empty-handed, saw an equalizing attempt ruled offside before Larsen managed to score in the 66th minute.

Celta nearly secured the win when they were awarded a penalty in the 72nd minute, but Aspas failed to convert. Athletic’s Alex Berenguer, however, made no mistake from the penalty spot in the final minute of stoppage time, securing a dramatic win for Athletic Club.

With this result, Rafa Benítez’s team concludes the 13th matchday of LALIGA EA SPORTS. RC Celta’s next match will be on Saturday, November 25th at 16:15 h against Valencia CF.
