RC Celta strengthens the central part of its defense with the addition of an international player of proven experience. Unai Núñez, coming from Athletic Club, has become the fourth signing of the Vigo squad for the exciting 2022/2023 season.
The central defender, 25 years old and 1.86 meters tall, has already accumulated 116 matches in the First Division and a total of 143 with the Bilbao team in different competitions. He is also a full international with the Spanish national team and European champion with the U-21 national team.
Unai returns, in a way, to his origins, since his father, Abel, a Galician emigrant born in Taboada (Lugo), was an outstanding central defender for Barakaldo in the early 90s.
Unai Núñez, a solid, solid defender with great ball handling, arrives on loan for the current season. The loan can be extended for the 2023/24 season and in case this happens there will be a compulsory purchase for RC Celta.
