Celta and Genoa CFC have reached an agreement for the loan with an option to buy of Hugo Cuenca, who will bolster the Celta B team’s offense in this exciting 26/27 season.
Born in Coronel Oviedo, Cuenca came up through the ranks at Deportivo Capiatá before making the leap to Europe to join AC Milan’s youth academy. In 2025, he signed with Genoa, and last season he played on loan at Burgos CF, where he continued to gain experience in Spanish soccer. He has also been a full international for Paraguay since 2024.
The left-footed attacking midfielder, who can also play on the wings thanks to his ability to break through defensive lines, stands out for his vision and ability to link up with teammates, qualities that make him a player with great potential, who will bring creativity and unpredictability to Celta Fortuna’s attack.
