RC Celta

RC Celta, through the Celta Foundation, together with the García Chillón Orlando Foundation, have inaugurated two soccer schools in Senegal. Located in the regions of Cap Skirring and Oussouye, it is a project through which the club strengthens its international presence and commitment while expanding its philosophy beyond our borders. The schools, which will train some 200 children between the ages of 5 and 16, represent an effort to promote local development in the most vulnerable areas.

The inauguration of both spaces was attended by Germán Arteta, director of the Celta Foundation, and Miguel Álvarez, member of RC Celta, who, together with members of the García Chillón Orlando Foundation, were received by the local authorities and were able to see the place where the training sessions will take place. This project aims to provide a safe space in which children and young people can develop their sports skills, as well as transmitting the characteristic values of the Celta entity such as effort, discipline and work. In addition, this initiative aims to generate a positive impact in the region by offering training opportunities to young people.

These two academies replicate the model that both the Celta Foundation and the García Chillón Orlando Foundation have in place in countries such as India and Peru. Schools where 240 boys and girls train every day, some of them have the opportunity to stay in Vigo to train at the Celta Academy.

RC Celta, through the Celta Foundation, reaffirms its commitment to sport as a tool for social transformation with the aim of promoting a more just and equality society by supporting the most vulnerable groups.
