RC Celta and designer Isabel Núñez came together to create a unique piece, the Centenario dress. Haute couture in football gives us the opportunity to break the established limits and commemorate the last few years of the club’s history.
It is a dress, made entirely in light blue, which is a tribute to the fundamental values of Celta: origin, tradition, pride and heart. A collector’s item that will be displayed in the official store of the A Sede RC Celta for all those who want to come and see it on June 19, when it will become part of the RC Celta Museum of Abanca Balaídos.
This authentic jewel was created by designer Isabel Núñez, who, with a family in Vigo and strong roots in Galician traditions, has been able to capture our history and origins through fashion. The rough fabric for its production was made of rustic silk, which symbolizes the nobility and authenticity that characterize us. Inspired by traditional Galician dress, Inuñez designed a layered skirt with pleats through the outer and inner layers finished with a hand-embroidered cotton mesh net in blue tones. This detail connects us with the sea and pays tribute to the hard work of so many Galician women who live for it. Furthermore, the neckline of the dress recreates the neckline of the first official Celta t-shirt, a spark of our origins. The most special touch of this creation is a spectacular crystal hand embroidery in vermilion tones, for which 100 hours of work were dedicated, one hour for each year of the club’s history. This detail symbolizes the flag that moves all Celticists and represents the flag that every Celta fan raises with pride, whether on a circle from Galicia or on a circle from part of the world.
Just before we celebrate the Centennial Year, this design is intended to pay homage to all the Celtic women who have accompanied us throughout our history. In every detail, in every stitch, the spirit gives us strength, the heart and the strength that characterizes a part that is fundamental for RC Celta, Celticism. A work of art, displayed in the A Sede store, that not only celebrates our Galician identity and pride, but also maintains a legacy that generation after generation will continue to remain intact.
