Youth player Fer López suffers a grade II sprain of the tibioperoneal syndesmosis of his right ankle after an action in his Laliga debut against RCD Mallorca at Abanca Balaídos. The MRI scan carried out this morning revealed no major injuries, so the estimated time off will be around six weeks.
On the other hand, he has also undergone an MRI scan on his right knee which ruled out injuries to the anterior cruciate ligament. While the forced movement of that joint was typical of an anterior cruciate ligament injury, in this case, the fact that there was also a forced movement in his ankle reduced the loads on the knee which probably saved a cruciate injury.
Get well soon, Fer!
