Celta continues to invest heavily in its youth academy with the renewal of Miguel Román, one of the promising young players from the sky-blue reserve team. The player will remain with the club for the next three seasons.
After a brilliant season under Fredi Álvarez, with 34 games, 4 goals, 6 assists and more than 3,000 minutes on the pitch, the Gondomar native made his debut with Celta in the Copa del Rey against UD San Pedro at the end of last October and was called up for his first league game a few months later.
Now, after a great pre-season with Claudio Giráldez’s team, the midfielder seems to have settled into the first team dynamic and thus becomes the eleventh player from the reserve team to make the leap to the elite in the last months.
His renewal is yet another sign of the good times being enjoyed by the Celta youth academy, with a generation that continues to take firm steps forward and inspire the dreams of all Celta fans.
Congratulations, Miguel!
